Swimming
During the academic year 2025–2026, all Year 4 pupils will take part in a block of curriculum swimming lessons as part of the school’s Physical Education programme.
The sessions will take place at Bramcote Leisure Centre on Tuesday afternoons, beginning on Tuesday 3rd March 2026.
Swimming lessons are delivered by qualified instructors and focus on developing pupils’ water confidence, swimming technique and personal safety. Throughout the programme, children will work towards meeting the national curriculum expectations for swimming, including:

Swimming competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres

Using a range of strokes effectively (for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke)

Performing safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
Further information regarding arrangements, including transport, timings, kit requirements and consent, will be shared with parents and carers closer to the start date.
