School Council

Our School Council ensures that every class has a voice in shaping life at our school. Members are democratically elected after delivering a speech to their classmates, with voting taking place in our school Polling Station at the start of each academic year.

The School Council meets regularly to discuss whole-school matters and key issues that matter to pupils. Recent work has included discussions on school lunches, where members met with our catering team; sustainability, through collaboration with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust; and improving lunchtime equipment, alongside our school leaders.

Each week, during our BRAVE Achievement Assembly, our Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl present our Kindness Award. These awards recognise pupils who have demonstrated exceptional kindness and embodied our BRAVE values. Recipients are celebrated by having their names added to our Kindness Tree, proudly displayed in the school entrance.

We are committed to ensuring that every pupil feels heard and valued, with meaningful opportunities to contribute to decisions that affect their school experience.
