General letter to all school students / parents / guardians and staff from NHS COVID-19 Absence: A quick guide for Parents / Carers

As we have confirmed positive cases of Covid in school, we have been provided with the above information letter for all children. If your child is a close contact you will already have been informed. Please ensure that if your child has any Covid symptoms they do not attend school and a PCR is taken. 

Please see the attached document regarding action that needs to be taken in the event of a suspected case of Covid-19.

Department for Education

The Department for Education have produced guidance for parents/carers: 'What parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges'. Changes relating to self-isolating and shielding, who needs to get a test for coronavirus, face coverings and assessments/exams have been updated in this guidance. There is a Department for Education Coronavirus helpline available to answer questions about COVID-19 relating to education and children’s social care.  Staff, parents and young people can contact this helpline as follows:

8am to 6pm – Monday to Friday
10am to 4pm – Saturday and Sunday

A Remote Learning at Home page has been set up for children, parents and carers to access a range of age appropriate activities at home in the event of a 'bubble' or local lockdown.  Additionally, you will also find a range of resources to help explain to children the current situation regarding Covid-19 Coronavirus in a child-friendly manner.
